Linda Lee Doyle

Linda Doyle passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and teacher. Linda was born in Iowa but moved to Golden CO when she was a week old where she grew up on a Turkey farm and graduated from Golden High School.  She attended Western State in Gunnison CO for two quarters, where she attend on a skiing scholarship.

Linda married Hershel in 1962 and was married for 56 years. She supported and put Hershel through the University of Colorado.  Linda babysat the neighborhood children until her children were in elementary school.  Linda was a ParaPro for 5 years working at Mesa and Bear Creek elementary schools.  At the age of 30, Linda went back to college and attended the Metropolitan State College graduating with a degree in Elementary Education.  Linda was a long-term substitute at Emerald Elementary her first year.  Linda returned to school at The University of Northern University in Greeley, graduating with a Master’s degree with and emphasis in Special Ed and Reading.  Linda went on to teach in Boulder Valley School District at Broomfield Middle Heights, teaching Special Ed and 6th grade reading.  She finished her career at Martin Park Elementary where she taught 5th grade and 1st grade. 

Linda was an avid reader, loved cooking, quilting and skiing. Always ready to help make a meal, baking treats for the teacher lounges, or setting up coffee at church.  She loved her Grandchildren, cooking with and for, reading to and helping them with homework. 

She is survived by her daughter Tamara Miller, son Patrick Doyle, daughter-in-law Leslie Doyle. Her five Grandchildren Christopher Miller, Meghan Miller, Kayleigh Doyle, Landace Doyle, and J.P. Doyle, sister-in-law Annette Doyle and 4 nephews.

Linda is predeceased in death by her parents Virgina and Joseph Peery, brothers Norman and Richard Peery, husband Hershel Doyle, and grandson Samuelle Miller.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Scholars Unlimited, they provide books to children in low-income communities


A celebration of her life will be held October 20th, at 1pm at Darrell Howe Mortuary. Masks are required while in the building per Boulder County.
