Fred Rogers, our beloved life partner, brother, uncle, and friend left us to be with the Lord and our other loved ones on May 4, 2023.

The eldest child of Hugh and Betty Rogers, Fred was born on June 16, 1952, in Pine Bluff, AR. Fred provided his family and loved ones with years of laughter, love, and compassion with his unique outlook on life. He was a constant reminder to take life as it comes and find joy in even the smallest blessings.

Fred lived in Boulder County for the majority of his adulthood. He learned the painting trade through his father and continued painting along with various other jobs throughout his working career. Fred also served in the navy and Boulder search and rescue team in the early seventies.

Fred met the love of his life, Johna Dickerson, 35 years ago while working at Ball in Boulder. Together they enjoyed a peaceful and happy life on their farm North of Longmont with their sheep and cats. Fred’s cat children will miss him dearly, especially Opie, his cat of 22 years.

Fred had strong belief in Jesus and strived to be more Christ-like every day. He had a giving and compassionate heart and loved sharing his faith with others.

Fred is survived by his life partner Johna Dickerson, two sisters Kathy Nicndorff of Lafayette and Janet Sherba of Thornton CO. Two nephews Austin Sherba and Cody Porter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Betty rogers, brother Larry Rogers, nephew Levi Rogers, brother-in-law Randy Nicndorff, and many other relatives who were all rejoicing when Fred joined them in heaven.

 

Services

Services will be heald at Darrell Howe Mortuary on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00am. Services will be followed by burial in Lafayette cemetery.
