Lourdes V. McGuire
October 25th, 1937 — January 22nd, 2015
Lourdes Velando McGuire passed away peacefully in her Boulder home on January 22, 2015 at the age of 77.
On Thanksgiving Day of 1952 her parents brought her and her seven siblings to the United States from the Philippines.
Lourdes spent the majority of her work career in Boulder which included Fairview High School and IBM. After retiring from IBM she pursued her interests of cooking, gardening, exercise and traveling.
Lourdes accomplished her dream of earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Regis University at the age of 51.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert, and her two sons, Kevin (Kristie) and Sean (Lynn). She is also survived by her five brothers and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Federico and Aurora Velando and one brother, Ricardo Velando.
Services
Services will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road in Boulder on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015 at 11:00am MST. Reception following the service at the church. Burial at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder will commence at 2 pm, shortly after the church reception.
