Anne Struthers

January 31st, 1932August 14th, 2015

Anne has left our world to be embraced in the loving arms of those who went before – her long missed, beloved husband Joe, her parents Curt and Athelda, her dear brother Coates.  She leaves three daughters; Amy (David Cooper), Susan, and Jodi (Evan), two grandchildren, the lights of her life, Joe and Kenzie, brother-in-law John and his wife Betty, sister-in-law Margaret, four nieces; Becky, Susan, Michelle, Melissa and their families, as well as many friends and countless children from a long career as a teacher.

Anne was born in 1932 to Curtis and Athelda and spent her childhood riding her horses through the streets of Burlington and the plains of northeast Colorado.  She graduated from Burlington High School and followed in her father’s footsteps by graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in music and teaching.   It was at CU that she met and married the love of her life Joe. She taught in the Boulder Valley School District for many years and retired to her farm in Longmont, where she spent her time being a devoted Nana to Joe, and Miya to Kenzie.

Anne leaves us due to complications from a long and happy life.  We hope the burdens of pain and loss are left at the door while she finds her place as heavens sweetest angel.  We miss you like crazy!

In lieu of flowers, Anne would ask donations be made to the 4-H club of your choice, 4-H Foundation, or to the Leukemia Society of America.

Condolences

our deepest sympathy goes out to Jodi and all the members of the Struthers family on the loss of your dear Mother and Grandmother. Losing a mother is one of the hardest things we have to go through and only through the love of a mother's legacy can we bring ourselves to be happy once more. Always remember the good fun times and you will never be alone, she will always be in your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Owen,Sharon and family
So sorry to hear this. I've been meaning to stop by the farm and say hi to all for so long and just haven't done it. I know it's long after Anne left us but I had no idea that she was ill. She was a wonderful person and I always enjoyed talking with her in years past. Please accept my deepest and very late condolences Amy, Sue and Jodi and family... Give me a call some day and let's catch up. I'm recovering my voice lost to a stroke in July, but I think I can be understood now - getting speech therapy at the VA which is helping....
