Violet Schmidt

Violet “Vi” Schmidt (83) of Boulder, Colorado passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 11th, 2015.     

She lived in the Boulder area for 42 years, and was employed at Arrow Office Products and Interiors for 22 years and the Boulder Good Samaritan Center for six years prior to that.

Vi was a devoted mother and grandmother and a passionate gardener who tended a wide variety of vegetables and beautiful roses.  She enjoyed sewing, needlework, reading, music and spending time with her family.  Her strong will, strength, faith and Christian beliefs helped her to raise her four children.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Schmidt in 1974, her two brothers (Edward Lutz & Albert Lutz) and her sister (Rose Stein). 

She is survived by her siblings:  Martha Pennington (Roger Patrick), Arnold Lutz (Phyllis), Richard Lutz (Barbara) and Robert Lutz.  Children:  Bruce Schmidt, Wanda Garland (Larry), Carol Jeffers (Steve), and Barb Fettig (Mike) all of the Boulder area.  Six grandchildren:  Jon Paul Stough, Preston Garland, Erin Stough, Kristin Jeffers, Shauna Garland and Justine Jeffers.  She will be missed dearly and forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Violet Schmidt to the American Lung Association or Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Boulder, Colorado.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 19th at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church located at 1345 South Broadway, Boulder.  Viewing will take place at 11AM with a service beginning at 12:00 Noon and lunch immediately following.  A private interment for the family will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 10:30am Monday, September 21, 2015.
