Joe E. Algiene

Joe Algiene was born on March 14th, 1938 in Crowley, Colorado to Elveria and Abe Algiene. He passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2020 in his home in Westminster, CO.

Joe was one of nine children. He graduated from Crowley High School and joined the United States Marine Corps where he served until being honorable discharged. Joe worked in the Safeway Distribution Center for many, many years until he retired. In 1984 he met the love of his life, Liz Vialpando. They were together for 36 happy years. Joe was a simple man and enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed watching country Western movies, playing poker, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Joe is survived by his wife, Liz Algiene; his son, Eugene (Anita) Algiene of Anchorage, AK and his step-children, Leroy (Kim Judy) Trujillo of Firestone, CO, Anthony (Tammy) Sanchez of San Antonio, TX, Manuel (Deborah) Trujillo of Fountain, CO; his daughters, Magdalena Trujillo of Broomfield, CO, Angela Trujillo of Lochbuie, CO, and by his brother, Chico Algiene of California, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his son, Greg Algiene; his parents, Elveria and Abe; his brothers, Henry, James, Robert, George, and Edward; and his sisters, Rosie and Carolina.
